Americaya!

Was at bugis area and happened to be passing by BHG's sale.

They are offering an additional 15% sale off discounted prices.

So I thought, might as well check if there are heels around that I can fit and I found this brand - Americaya

Bought a pair of heels size 22.5 for only $25 bucks after discount. The best thing besides the fit? It is made of pig skin so it was quite comfy. I'm happy!

They have a lot of small size heels. So do check it out if you wear size 22.5-23.

To be honest, size 22.5 is their smallest size. It was a tad too big for me so I bought this pair of wedges with adjustable straps at the bag. They helped me punch a hole to tighten the fit and viola! My first pair of fitting heels in like... 10-12 mths?

=)

The design is quite ordinary, but I'm still ecstatic. They showed me some more heels that are really small size but I didn't buy them cos they looked a bit 'auntie'. Think this is one of those brands that stresses comfort. A lot of the shoes I tried felt very comfy but design wise ahem.. can be improved.

Anyway I texted my fashionista colleagues after I bought the heels cos I was so ecstatic. My funny bitchy boss said of this brand "Oh... that's my mum's favorite brand".

I'm like... "Great, I always knew your mum has great taste and good fashion sense."

Update on Small Footed Gals

For all those with really small feet (e.g. size 4 and below)

'Flowerpod has this thread on shops selling size 3 shoes!'

One of the podders, tohtijune, collated a list of shops:

Charles & Keith
OG
VNC (Vincci in Malaysia)
Pedalworks
Mondo (Far East & Isetan Wisma)
Anna Nicci (Far East level 3)
Nine West
Birkenstock
Bata (Kids' size)
Shockwave

I'm adding in my favorite- Tangs!

Heh, you may want to check them out!

Personally, I don't like Mondo shoes, they are not very comfy and don't last.

Charles & Keith has nice designs but they are usually not comfy for me.
--> Went to Charles & Keith's website and saw lots of ang moh models
--> tot it is a local brand? Wat's the big deal with ang moh models?

Discovered Pedal Works

I was in the office and kena arrowed for a last minute formal meeting. Office is kinda messy now with a new boss nicknamed 'Empress Dowager'. The last time she saw me in the lift... she FROWNED at my shoes. She's known to fire people with a killer frown. I absolutely quaked.

To cut the story short, I was horrified that I was wearing one of my comfy and barely fitting open-toed heels --> Empress Dowager may 'frown' again.

So i whipped out the emergency heels that I keep in the office for this purpose... except... they don't fit. As a size 3, it is very difficult to find covered heels/ pumps that fit. So i proceeded to stuff the shoes with all the scholls peripherals that I can find...

In the end, my feet ached like mad after the meeting. Half the office saw me desperately stuffing my shoes --> not a pretty sight

And... shoe still didn't fit cos my feet were too narrow so it had the feeling of the heels falling off anytime.

Sigh. Then one of my colleagues recommended this shop to me:

http://www.pedalworks.com.sg/

I went to check out the Tiong Bahru Branch. They really carry size 3 for all of their designs!

Some of the designs still don't fit cos my feet are too boney --> no meat to hold on to the shoes. Abu bu :(

But i feel most of their designs are quite dated...

The plus point is they are relatively comfy lah.

The price range is around $30-$40

In the end i didn't buy cos couldn't find a design i like.

But nonetheless... can take note lah. Support local shops that carry petite size.

how to zhng your oversized shoes

In my younger and more ignorant and more impulsive days of wild shopping, I've bought a lot of pretty shoes that are too BIG for me!

So sad. After you buy them, can't wear. super sayang. But i found these!

Leather Liners so you can cushion the back of your shoes and make it more comfy.

BUT~ usually that's not enough shoe still too big cos my feet too small and a bit skinny. So much also get insoles to make it fit lah!

The SAs always give me extra cushions when I buy shoes because sure too big. Now I'm more discipline, if i need cushions, I'll say bye bye to the pair of shoes no matter how cinderella they are. *sob. By the way, the cushions they give are quite useless. Always drop out and after you wear it for some time, the cushions will sink in! I ever walk walk walk and the whole cushion became so thin & sunken in, it dropped out into the street. Super paiseh heh.

Anyway, you can get these insoles and cut them to size. My feet are so small, i can cut 2 out of 1. very worth it! Haha! the privileges of being small.

When you cut them, make sure you check the depth of your shoes, sometimes too thick then the shoes will lack 'grip' and it will fall out. For those 'thin' shoes, I'll only cut a small round shape so that it covers the top half of my foot where the toes are. Then you put the heel liners at the back and viola! you are nicely cushioned.

Some of my friends suggested using tissues... please don't k... if you use tissue on those covered heels right... it will be damn gross. Some more it is all soaked with your sweat. super disgusting.

I bought this rubber type one from watsons'. scholls as well, it is for heels. Cushions the ball of your feet. everytime after i use it, can wash and re-use. very nice! Used it for like... 3 years liao still good. so these things are really worth the investmen. by the way, heard it is cheaper in malaysia. dunnoe, i'll go check out and publish prices if I go jb.

Cinderella find me size 3 heels!

Ever since ballet flats were the rage 2-3 years ago, I've been having problems finding shoes that fit well because i wear size 3 aka size 34 shoes.

Usually can only find shoes in BKK and KL.
Malaysia's Bata carries size 3/4 that fits quite well =)
If i'm really desperate for covered shoes for work, i just drive over to JB with parents loh. Search for Bata and get one. If you have time to shop though, Voir is GREAT! Somehow malaysia has more size 3-4s available. Also they have very nice designs! best of all! it is CHEAP CHEAP! Whee! When I go KL, i'll head to Sungei Wang! Lots of shoes, shop till you drop. They also have fantastic Ramly burger around there. So you can tempt your SO into going there with the Ramly. While they pig out on the Ramly, you shop like mad lah!

If not can try Vinnci, they are cheaper in Malaysia! But i'm not a vinnci fan, they remind me too much of Charles and Keith. Charles & Keith has really nice designs but their shoes hurt! (my opinion that is) Also, they don't stock my size.

If not, thailand should have plenty of choices. Just need to head down to MBK! LOVERLY! shoes and heels galore. most of them cost 13+ only and the quality is not back! Not as good as my favorite tangerine lah but much better than your mondo.
