Petite Clothes from Europe!

Whee! Parents and sis bought me some clothes from Europe.
Parents went to UK to visit sis. Since I couldn't go they bought me clothes to make me happy.

Got my first H&M cardigan!

Euro size - XS --> to be honest it is a bit flappy lah. but i can't care less!

Wheee!

Apparently a lot of clothes are on closing down sales in London. So they shopped like crazy. This one costs 10 pounds after discount.

post the others later. I go try clothes.

Disappointed with KFC breakfast

Had the $6.00 KFC breakfast the other day with my colleague cos she wanted to try it out.

Was super disappointed loh.

For $6 you get
- dry scrambled eggs (McDonald's scrambled eggs are much better!)
- a triangular hash brown (2/3 size of McDonald's)
- a fried piece of chicken patty (MCDonald's beef patty is tastier)
- Tea (not re-fillable, or rather i didn't spot a refilling station)
- A 'biscuit' which was obviously made from pancake flour

Very disappointing.

Contrast this! I paid $3.50 for this at a food court. Much better value for money!

Discovered Mugigae!

My boss and I went shopping after a meeting a few days back and she introduced me to this shop!

Mugigae @ Bugis Junction

I took a quick photo with my camera phone. It is on level 2.
#02-38

The clothes are very nice for office wear and they carry size XS. I didn't have the time to try. Plus was a bit paiseh to try clothes when boss is shopping lah. anyway price range is around $29-$40+ for tops. They also have very nice dresses.

Anyway Little Match Girl which is nearby is also having sales. They are selling tops at $18 each.
So you guys may wanna check it out.

It is cool to have a fashionista for a boss!

Top shopping vacations for Petites!

Kinda like a continuation of my previous post...

Wikiepedia actually has a list of the world's average height lei.

Singaporean women are not exactly the shortest in our region loh.
Avg height is 160 cm. which means I'm 8 cm from the norm.

Assuming the retailers aim their sizes at the mass market, this means that i will find it easier to find clothes my size in countries that have smaller sized women.

This leaves me with: Indonesia, Malaysia & Thailand!

Quite true lah, I've previously mentioned in my posts that I find it easier to find size 3 shoes in Malaysia lah.

As for bangkok, I managed to buy some pencil skirts (waist: 23 inch) from MBK in Thailand.

So... you may wanna consider these countries for your next shopping vacation? *wink*

The height of kitchen Shelves...

Short = low kitchen sink?

My family is made up of hobbits lah. All of us are under 1.6m (including papa).

So I didn't quite realized that our kitchen sink is rather low until my bF pointed it out.

We were cooking, then he was helping me wash the dishes.

Suddenly, he was like... eh... very 辛苦, your kitchen sink is very low.

Then I realized he was bending over to wash the dishes.

I was about to be nice and ask him to stop washing etc. etc. but he started laughing at me, called me a hobbit etc.

So... TOO BAD... i made him wash all the dishes.

Kinda makes you think... what's the norm range of height among females?

So I die die must custom-made my furnishing next time lah since I'm ahem... hobbit like.

Update on Small Footed Gals

For all those with really small feet (e.g. size 4 and below)

'Flowerpod has this thread on shops selling size 3 shoes!'

One of the podders, tohtijune, collated a list of shops:

Charles & Keith
OG
VNC (Vincci in Malaysia)
Pedalworks
Mondo (Far East & Isetan Wisma)
Anna Nicci (Far East level 3)
Nine West
Birkenstock
Bata (Kids' size)
Shockwave

I'm adding in my favorite- Tangs!

Heh, you may want to check them out!

Personally, I don't like Mondo shoes, they are not very comfy and don't last.

Charles & Keith has nice designs but they are usually not comfy for me.
--> Went to Charles & Keith's website and saw lots of ang moh models
--> tot it is a local brand? Wat's the big deal with ang moh models?

Discovered Pedal Works

I was in the office and kena arrowed for a last minute formal meeting. Office is kinda messy now with a new boss nicknamed 'Empress Dowager'. The last time she saw me in the lift... she FROWNED at my shoes. She's known to fire people with a killer frown. I absolutely quaked.

To cut the story short, I was horrified that I was wearing one of my comfy and barely fitting open-toed heels --> Empress Dowager may 'frown' again.

So i whipped out the emergency heels that I keep in the office for this purpose... except... they don't fit. As a size 3, it is very difficult to find covered heels/ pumps that fit. So i proceeded to stuff the shoes with all the scholls peripherals that I can find...

In the end, my feet ached like mad after the meeting. Half the office saw me desperately stuffing my shoes --> not a pretty sight

And... shoe still didn't fit cos my feet were too narrow so it had the feeling of the heels falling off anytime.

Sigh. Then one of my colleagues recommended this shop to me:

http://www.pedalworks.com.sg/

I went to check out the Tiong Bahru Branch. They really carry size 3 for all of their designs!

Some of the designs still don't fit cos my feet are too boney --> no meat to hold on to the shoes. Abu bu :(

But i feel most of their designs are quite dated...

The plus point is they are relatively comfy lah.

The price range is around $30-$40

In the end i didn't buy cos couldn't find a design i like.

But nonetheless... can take note lah. Support local shops that carry petite size.

MIA- Back now!

Hi Folks,

Esp to the ones who have emailed me... I've been MIA for the past few months. But now I'm back. Sorry for that!

Was busy baking & fixing up the compewter:

Chocolate Cake for my mummy's birthday!

It is a normal walnut cake with chocolate ganache and decorated with icing, blue berries and edible flowers and hearts from the local baking shop.

My first attempt! I'm proud. :)

Mummy's specialty: Curry Chicken Pie

This is 家传秘方 --> very crispy, flaky and yummy.

Chocolate chip cookies!

My bf's fav.

CNY- New year tarts

Didn't turn out as pretty as I'd hope it to be.
