How to alter your suits!

find a damn good tailor. a damn good tailor is usually:



a) Female, cos i can't stand men measuring my vital stats (other more sensitive preferences apply)
b) very patient --> she'll listen to you whine and then step back and give you her take on how to alter the clothing
c) charges cheap cheap!
d) offers solution and lets you know alternative
e) does good work... i.e. she really knows her stuff one lah...

Very tough to find one rite?

Previously went to someone near jurong west extension. Sucks!

Instead of giving me her assessment of how to fix the clothes she started telling me how difficult it is to alter clothing with lining etc. etc. so she has to charge XX amount ($6 more than what my trusty tailor is charging me!*@#$*)

Point of the post:

When you go to a tailor. Ask the tailor to tell you exactly how he/she will alter the clothes. A good tailor will focus on that before quoting a price. She must be able to tell you what's the end result like and how she's going to do and then u can proceed to negotiate for the best price.
